Program Outline:
In providing dementia care, what ethical and legal principles are relevant? This seminar will look at clinical cases to see how these principles are applied
Who Should Attend:
This guide to Alzheimer's care is designed for CEU/CME credit for Social Workers & Nurses.
*Social Workers: Program approval for one continuing education credit from the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapy Board for this program has been granted for social workers through The Christ Hospital Social Work Department and fulfills one CEU of training.
*Nurses: RNs can use the hours awarded by the State Medical Board to satisfy the CE requirement in the State of Ohio.

What is dementia, and what changes in the brain cause dementia? This seminar will discuss cases to illustrate how individuals are impacted by different types of dementia

Dr. Robert Keyes
Co-Director of Christ Hospital Health & Aging Center
Dr. Keyes is co-director of The Christ Hospital Health & Aging Center. He is board-certified in both internal medicine and geriatrics. He is passionate about helping elderly patients cope with age-related health conditions.
He received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering, doctorate in biochemistry, and medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. He then completed his internal medicine residency at The Christ Hospital and a joint geriatric fellowship program at The Christ Hospital and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
"The Center for Health and Aging relies on a model of care that takes a proactive approach to disease management of the older adult," explains Dr. Keyes. "By anticipating complications that might arise in the early course of a disease, we hope to avoid hospitalization or placement in a nursing home."
In his spare time, Dr. Keyes is a youth and adult education teacher at the Village Church of Mariemont, chairman of the Mariemont Civic Association, and Mariemont's Town Crier.
